Thomas Baker Joins Wealth Advisors Group, LLC as Director of Investments

Wealth Advisors Group, LLC, a Montgomery County based consultative wealth management services firm, is pleased to announce that Thomas Baker, CFA has joined the firm as Director of Investments.  In this role, Thomas will be responsible for all activities associated with the management of our clients’ portfolios from tactical asset allocation, day-to-day trading, portfolio monitoring, transactions settlement, performance evaluation, and regulatory and client reporting as well as supporting business development.

Thomas has over 20 years of experience in portfolio management with a primary focus on designing and implementing custom portfolio solutions. Prior to joining Wealth Advisors Group, LLC he was the lead multi asset Portfolio Manager for BlackRock in the MD/VA/DC market, providing customized portfolio solutions to high net worth and institutional clients, along with model portfolio solutions to financial advisors. While there, he over-saw substantial AUM growth, which he attributes to a process-over-product approach and a relentless focus on risk management.

Prior to his 14-year tenure at BlackRock, Thomas was a Vice President/Portfolio Manager for Baltimore a based, Mercantile Bank where he managed client AUM of approximately $1B across a limited number of high-profile family relationships.  He also spearheaded the launch of custom structured products, designed to enhance returns, and diversify concentrated portfolio risk exposures.

Thomas earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2002. He has a bachelor degree in Business Administration and Finance from Towson University.
